Panasonic ES8249S Arc IV Nanotech Vortex |
I am very skeptical when Panasonic ES8249S comes to electric shavers. Most electric shavers just shorten the stuble, but this Panasonic ES8249S actually shaves it off leaving your face smooth. For years I’ve had to use the gillette four blade razors because it was the only thing that would get the job done. Gillette rapes you every time you buy replacement razors. I get pissed off everytime I had to drop a $20 bill to buy the replacement razors! But not anymore. Panasonic ES8249S delivers what it promises. Get a smoother shave with Panasonic ES8249S. Panasonic ES8249S is 4 Nanotech blades with Arc Foil gives you a uniform ’1-pass’ shaving, while the pivoting head rocks up/down and back/forth, to follow the contours of your face. When you’re done shaving, the HydraClean system automatically cleans the shaver with hygienic infused water and then dries it, so there’s one less thing you have to worry about. Automatic international voltage conversion 10-stage LCD battery monitor with time elapsed tracking Includes charging stand .

Panasonic ES8249S Customer Reviews
- Panasonic ES8249S is larger overall than my old one, though not as tall – mine was shallower with a tall piece that could be extended up to fit the razor, and then collapsed back down after you were done. This one just bulks more overall. My other one had the cleaning cartridge in the front, this one in the back, but they use the same one so I can keep going with the ones I had stored. I hardly use the cleaner though, only when I need to charge every two to three weeks, the rest of the time I just clean it under water with liquid soap, which works great.
- Panasonic ES8249S is about the same weight, but a nicer feel with a rubberized surface that is easier to grip than the plastic for those who use it in the shower. Noise level is less than my other one as well, without sacrificing any of the high speed. I had read reviews where people talked about how loud this was, but I find it to be very quiet compared to the Brauns and Norelcos I’ve had before I got my first Panasonic in 2007.
- I shave my head, and was a couple days behind when I placed this order, so I let it grow just so I’d have a good test when I got it. Unit arrived only 10% charged, but was fully charged to 100% in about 90 minutes. The head is different than I’m used to from the other Panasonic, the whole top floats, rather than just the foils floating inside a more stationary plastic cover. Makes Panasonic ES8249S larger and deeper, which annoys me as far as cleaning goes, because whereas my last one I could pull out in two sections, the metal foil itself, and then the plastic housing, this all comes as one piece.
As with most electric razors, the flip out trimmer in back is more of a nod towards convention than something really usable. Flimsy as most are, and a lot of tugging and pain when used. Which is why I use a separate trimmer that is ONLY a trimmer. But since every Panasonic ES8249S I’ve had was similar.
